We very much want AYSO soccer to be a positive experience for your child and try our best to make it such. If you have a concern, a question, or a complaint, we want to know about it. The following suggestions are intended to give you a course of action to discuss questions or air grievances with your local AYSO volunteers.
First, if you haven't already done so, please use the links to the left to familiarize yourself with the AYSO organization and its philosophy, including our parent's code of conduct. The AYSO philosophy is important to us and we make every attempt to live by it.
While the AYSO rules state that every player be on the field for at least half of each game, we go a step further and try as much as possible to have each player on the field for three quarters of each game. Sometimes, this can't be done due to the numbers on the field and the numbers on a team, especially when the other team is playing short handed. Every coach should be aware that our policy is to play everyone at least three quarters of each game whenever possible.
If you have a question or a complaint, we encourage you to discuss it with your child's coach first. The coach is nearly always the person most familiar with your child's personality, his or her skill level, and the dynamics of the team. Most coaches will make every attempt to resolve your concerns in a manner best for your child and the team.
If you prefer to take your issue to the next highest level, either because you don't wish to discuss it with the coach or the coach has not addressed the matter as you'd like, please contact the division commissioner. Names and email addresses for each division commissioner and other contacts within the organization can be found on the Board of Directors page. If necessary, you can also bring the issue before the boys or girls commissioner, the assistant regional commissioner, or the regional commissioner. Please give your coach or division commissioner the opportunity to resolve your concerns first. We're all volunteers so please try and be patient. We want to address your concerns but we all have jobs, families, and other commitments vying for our time and attention.
If you feel something is wrong, please take the time to make your voice heard. And remember, the best way to improve the quality of your child's soccer experience is to volunteer and get involved.
