We have over 500 kids from in and around Waynesville playing soccer every weekend in the fall. As with all AYSO organizations, we are a VOLUNTEER organization. No one associated with the program is compensated in any way.

Why do we do this?

Busy kids are happy kids. We're committed to creating a fun, fair, and safe environment of friendly competition for our young people. We also happen to believe that youth sports in general and soccer in particular can be a terrific experience for our kids, one that builds character by teaching the value of teamwork, cooperation, responsibility, and effort. We volunteer our time to make soccer happen for our kids and YOURS. Won't you join us? WE NEED YOU!

We have the following needs on a continuing basis:

Referees are consistently our greatest need. We simply have too few people refereeing too many games every weekend. Referees see the game from a unique point of view. Don't just watch the action from the sidelines. Volunteer and be in the middle of it all!  We have excellent training classes to teach you everything you need to know. Sign up for Referee training here.

Coaches are the heart of our program. They're on the front lines, working with our kids to teach them skills, teamwork, and confidence. There's no experience quite like seeing YOUR team move the ball and defend with heart, desire, and teamwork. Don't know anything about soccer you say? Most of us didn't when we started either. We have regular coaching clinics to help you. All that's required is a desire to work with kids. Be important in the life of a child. Be a coach. Contact Geoff Chitea for more information.

Field maintenance is an ongoing task. Much of this is done by the Parks and Rec people but we always need volunteers to help set up goals at the beginning of the season and tear them down at the end. Throughout the season we consistently need people to paint lines on the field. No training necessary, just a desire to help. Contact Mike Messier for more information.

Concessions earn dollars that go right back into the local program. We need someone to take responsibility for managing the concessions. Contact Alisha Messer for more information.
